
Mount Ida Senior Austin Rowland has received a $1,000 scholarship from the Arkansas Fair Manager’s Association (AFMA). He is the first Montgomery County Senior to receive this scholarship.
Larry Jones, a member of the Montgomery County Fair Association (MCFA) Board of Directors and a member of the AFMA Board of Directors, presented Austin with his scholarship Monday evening during the MCFA Board Meeting held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.
Austin Rowland is a 2020 graduate of Mount Ida High School. He is a longtime participant in the Montgomery County Fair Livestock Showing Program. He has shown hogs and goats and has been awarded Grand Champion Market Hog two years running. He has also receive Showmanship Awards for both the Hog and Goat Divisions.
He is the son of Jonathan and Jennifer Rowland. His future plans include attending the University of Arkansas in pursuit of a degree in Agriculture Education.
