Political sign theft is on the rise in Montgomery County with the most recent abduction involving Trump supporters.
Jon Standridge reported to the Montgomery County News Monday that someone has taken a flag and sign from his yard. Both were in support of President Donald Trump’s reelection bid for the Presidential Office.
This is the third time someone has reported political signs being stolen from their property in the last few months. The first two times they were taken from the property of the Dumas family. They had signs supporting Senators Joe Biden and Kamala Harris with their campaigns for President and Vice President respectively.
Standridge, who is a member of the Montgomery County Republican Committee, joined with his fellow committee members in speaking out against the Biden for President signs which were stolen earlier in the year from the Dumas Family’s property.
The Dumas and Standridge families live east of Mount Ida on Highway 270.
Standridge stated that he is offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for taking the signs from his property. He can be reached by phone at (870) 867-2471, or (870) 867-7242.
