Active case count takes a dramatic leap statewide

Reports of active cases of COVID-19 saw a dramatic increase in bordering counties this past week with Garland, Hot Spring and Clark Counties reporting over 290 active cases each. Montgomery County saw their numbers triple from three to nine in the past week.

Garland County was reporting 326 active cases Tuesday morning. This is a drastic increase over last Tuesday’s total of 180 active cases. They have reported 265 new cases in the past week with 16,886 cumulative cases reported. They have had 16,128 recoveries and 430 COVID related deaths.

Hot Spring County saw their active case count more than double as it jumped from 115 active cases last Tuesday to 295 this Tuesday. They have reported 247 new cases in the past week, 8,244 cumulative cases, 7,832 recoveries and 113 COVID related deaths.

Clark County’s active case count almost tripled in the past week. They are reporting 290 active cases this Tuesday compared to 82 reported a week ago. They have reported 245 new cases in the past week, 3,750 cumulative cases, 3,392 recoveries and 66 COVID related deaths.

While still in the single digits, Montgomery County reported a threefold increase in active cases. They are reporting nine active cases Tuesday versus three reported last Tuesday. They have had 1,198 cumulative cases, 1,136 recoveries and 53 COVID related deaths.

Statewide there are 27,162 active cases being reported. This is over 17,000 more than last week’s total of 10,088. There have been 23,178 new cases reported in Arkansas in the past week. 574,572 cumulative cases have been reported, 537,994 recoveries and 9,221 COVID related deaths.

Among the other bordering counties Howard County has the most active cases with 97 reported. They have reported 93 new cases in the past week. They have reported 2,720 cumulative cases, 2,584 recoveries and 39 COVID related deaths.

Yell County has reported 93 active cases. They have reported 71 new cases in the past week, 4,993 cumulative cases, 4,810 recoveries and 89 COVID related deaths.

Polk County is reporting 49 active cases with 49 new cases reported in the past week. They have reported 3,106 cumulative cases, 2,927 recoveries and 129 COVID related deaths.

Pike County is reporting 34 active cases and 29 new cases in the past week. They have reported 1,845 cumulative cases, 1,772 recoveries and 39 COVID related deaths.

Scott County is reporting 27 active cases and 19 new cases since last Tuesday. They have reported 1,840 cumulative cases, 1,779 recoveries and 34 COVID related deaths.
