Nursing Home Auxiliary Thrift Store to reopen June 8 with restrictions

The Montgomery County Thrift Shop will re-open Monday, June 8, with restrictions to protect everyone from the spread of COVID-19.

Guidelines include:

  • All customers and volunteer workers are required to wear a face mask or face shield.
  • Customers will have a one hour limit for shopping and only 10 customers will be allowed in store at one time. One child kept at your side or in buggy counts with yourself. DO NOT allow child to run free in store.
  • Maintain at least six (6) feet between customers.
  • Customers may check out and leave any time up to the one hour limit. Then all customers in store must check out and leave as soon as possible. Ten more customers will be admitted. If you are not through shopping you may go to the back of the line outside.

The auxiliary is made up of volunteers of which most are in the high risk group for COVID-19. They are reopening for their costumers and to keep the Thrift Shop going. Without everyone’s adherence to these guidelines for everyone’s protection they will not remain open.

Due to the need for extra workers on each shift at this time, they are limiting the days and hours they will be open. You will find  temporary hours posted on the front door of the store.

Please do not enter the store if you have any symptoms associated with flu or covid-19.
